Early   early hemi 354 - 392 1956 - 1958 camshafts
Early 331-354 camshafts have threaded snout and large cast fuel pump eccentric (see Fig. A). Early blocks will accept later style cams provided all the correct retaining hardware is used (see Fig. B), i.e. PAW camshaft retainer plate kit #5270.
CRANKSHAFTS
 BEWARE INDUSTRIAL CRANKSHAFTS DO NOT HAVE PROVISION FOR TIMING GEAR.
CASTING # The snout is straight if the engine has 2-piece gear drive. Check it out. Timing gear surface needs a step.
